The Hilltop Hacienda facility is part of the 300-acre estate purchased by Max and Marion Caldwell in 1946. The Mexican-style hacienda is situated on top of a mountain, surrounded by a redwood forest and meadows, and overlooks the bay down to the Monterey Peninsula. Entry is through a spacious, terra cotta tiled courtyard with a fountain in the middle and vines stretching along the adobe walls. The interior of the facility displays a Spanish motif with an open beam ceiling, historic fireplace, and large windows and French doors opening to a tiled terrace on the other side of the hacienda. The terrace is partially covered by a large overhanging roof. The large lawn area with a beautiful Spanish fountain is adjacent, and it is perfect for ceremonies. Both the terrace and lawn overlook the marvelous Monterey Bay.

About a mile away from the Hacienda, across the main road, is the Stone Creek Village, available from September through mid-June for company retreats or wedding weekends accommodating groups of up to 65 people (or slightly over that number). The facilities surround a small, western-style town square, with recreational facilities including swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and ping pong. You can stay overnight in cabin cottages and guest rooms appointed with antique-style beds, down comforters, fireplaces, and private bathrooms.

In 1995, under the direction of Pam Caldwell, Kennolyn opened its doors for weddings and conferences. It is now part of IACC, the International Association of Conference Centers. The facility’s gourmet chefs have menu packages available but also will work with a client to develop a special menu. Clients love the special attention, great food, and excellent service, and they want to come back for more. Please call for an appointment.
