Full of energy and spunk, Robin is always where the action is. Petite and unobtrusive, you will find her following the newlyweds, taking pictures of the guests, or shooting close-ups on the dance floor. "Most of my clients become friends during the preplanning process; so I laugh and cry with them, and my images reflect these emotions," Robin told me.

Before becoming a wedding photographer, Robin was a photo media specialist, took architectural pictures, and portraits or candids on cruise ships. Encouraged by her mother, she continued to pursue her career by enrolling in photography classes in Maine. She has had her own wedding photography business since 2001. While looking through her portfolios I saw how her work had developed. The first album, which was more traditional, consisted of photographs shot only with a film camera; the second one was a coffee table book whose images were primarily taken by a digital camera, although the work itself had a strong journalistic approach. In the last portfolio I could easily see her transition to more artistic images, exploiting the ability of Photoshop's post production capability.

"When I shoot a picture, I already have the final outcome in mind," she told me. For black & white photography enthusiasts, she still offers real film.

Within six weeks her clients can view their wedding pictures online in a dynamic slide show. A proof magazine and a CD with all the images are included in her base price. Additional costs are the various album brands Robin offers, in which her clean, attractive design show off her extraordinary work.
