If you are looking for a hot band that can perform all the classics and satisfy every age, enter Wally’s Swing World. Wally’s "Little Big Band" recreates the magic of American music’s Golden Era. From Wally Trindade’s slick dinner jacket, vintage microphone, and electric guitar, to his silky Sinatra-like voice, young and old cannot help but be impressed.

The tuxedo-clad band members fit the bill with a swinging three-piece horn section (trumpet, tenor sax, and alto sax), a rocking upright bass, a fedora-sporting piano man, and a cool-handed drummer. Combo options also are available. These musicians pride themselves on being capable of playing it all, from the vocal standards of the 40's and 50's to Big Band, Jump Swing, 50's rock, Latin, and lounge music. Their repertoire ranges from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra to Bobby Darin and Elvis Presley. Their versatile combination inspires people to comment with enthusiasm: "Once you’ve seen them, you’ll want to book them." "We simply didn’t want them to stop playing."

At one of their regular monthly engagements at the Hotel De Anza in San Jose, we found the lounge packed to standing room only. The audience was so enthused by the band, that they did not need a dance floor to jump, jive, and wail. We had a great time tapping our toes to songs like "That Old Black Magic," "You Made Me Love You," and "Blue Suede Shoes." The group also can be seen every Thursday at the Top of the Mark in San Francisco and every Friday at the Catalyst’s happy hour in Santa Cruz.

The band has released four CD's: "Welcome to Wally’s Swing World," "Full Swing Ahead," "More Than a Swing Thing," and their latest release, "Cocktail Hour." Wally’s Swing World also has been featured on swing compilation CD's and has opened for Chris Isaak.
