As a stationery and greeting card lover, I have long been familiar with these fabulous lines of Hello! Lucky greeting cards. Prior to meeting the masterminds and creative forces behind the company, I had purchased their invitations in my favorite stationery stores.
Sabrina and Eunice Moyle, two very close sisters, grew up traveling the world with their parents. Eunice was the creative and talented art student who excelled in web design and illustration. Sabrina, on the other hand, was the savvy businesswoman who earned her MBA at the prestigious Stanford University.
When the two brilliant sisters decided to collaborate by bringing their different talents to a business venture in 2003, Hello! Lucky was born. The company began with just 8 custom-designed greeting cards, which they courageously displayed at the annual Stationery Show in New York City. They received wonderful feedback, and in just 4 years, they now have a line of 300 greeting cards that are carried by over 400 stores throughout the United States and England. Eunice, now creative director, and two other designers meet with clients who are interested in custom designed invitations. Sabrina, along with her staff, takes care of operations, customer service, and production.
In 2004, the company was approached by the associate style editor of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine to custom-design and print all of her wedding stationery. Eunice worked closely with the client and designed beautiful and elegant cherry blossom-themed wedding invitations, place mats, escort cards, and programs, which were featured in the Martha Stewart Weddings. This great success encouraged them to expand into the wedding industry.
Primarily printed with letterpress most designs are vintage-inspired, stylish, and sophisticated, with refreshing color palettes. Eunice and her designers get their ideas from many sources, including vintage fabric patterns, fashion and interior designs, and flea markets. They are especially passionate about Asian and 19th century French designs.
Both Sabrina and Eunice are hip, savvy women, and the name of the company reflects its fun and upbeat culture. One of the owners main goals is to make sure their clients are satisfied and happy with their products. No matter how much the company has grown, their personalized customer service and attention to detail remain a priority. In addition to their San Francisco studio, Hello! Lucky has an office in London.
