During our last visit, we admired a beautiful flower bouquet on Susan’s table. It consisted mainly of Casablanca lilies and white garden roses. Susan told us that it came from her previous wedding work and the flowers were already four days old.

Susan set up her floral design studio in 1988. Her wonderful, creative work is that of a perfectionist. Some of her props include wrought iron garden stands, urns, columns, three-foot Italian glass vases, and decorative containers. Theme props, such as ceramic angels embedded in moss with flowers and soft fern, help to create mini-gardens. When she meets with her clients she shows them her extensive portfolio to help them decide what look they want and what will work with their budget. Her creative designs, done with high-quality flowers, always earn her much applause.

For a silver and burgundy holiday wedding at Ralston Hall, Susan created beautiful bird nest wreaths made from moss and covered with curly willow and honey suckle vine. They held deep red roses among other burgundy flowers with silver painted hydrangeas and berries. The bridesmaids held tied, free stem, deep red roses with unusual round silver blossoms only found near the seaside. When I was observing the bridesmaids’ bouquets one of them said to me, "Isn’t it incredible?" Then they all joined in to say how beautiful all the arrangements looked. The bride’s bouquet mixed white gardenias and stephanotis with the red roses and silver hydrangea.

Her work is published in the well known book, Floral Style and she is on numerous preferred lists throughout the Bay Area.
