Great things have happened during the last year at Floramor Studios. Laura
Little and Stephen O'Connell, the owners, found the perfect location on Bryant
Street. Its back doors open directly to the flower market. "We have waited for
such an opportunity for so long;" Laura told me, "now, we just have to order the
flowers, and first thing in the morning they are delivered to our doorstep. With
the new building came larger and lighter working space inspiring our creativity. We have the best designer team ever, such great
diversity of talents. I feel we have broken free from traditional ideas and are
covering new ground. Of course, new designs require new lines of containers and
props which were added to the warehouse." Now the last new thing everybody is
waiting for is the fantastic new website, which is expected to be launched in
July.
However, there are also things that stayed the same. Floramor still is among the
top flower studios in San Francisco and on the recommendation list of the best
venues and hotels in the area. They still strive for excellence, and have
wonderful customer service which extends far beyond floral design to the total
visual look. Additionally, they still create the opulent romantic look for which
they are known.
Laura receives her clients in the new space where large windows, sparse
furniture, and decorative props show Floramor's artistic flair. We sat at the
large table where she consults with her customers and shows the
prototypes created for them. "When you understand classic style, modern, cutting
edge design is really not that different. We love to stretch ourselves to make
each event special and unique," says Laura. "You can bring in other elements
like crystal vases and lots of candle light; the other day we created an event
with 750 calla lilies."
