"How can we thank you enough for helping to create a beautiful, relaxed,
happy wedding for us and all our guests? You understood what we wanted and
needed for our special day. Above all you always presented us with a calm,
in-control manner..." was a comment from a former bride.
In wedding consulting, this former administrator for a non-profit
organization, floral design associate, artist, and garden photographer has
found her calling. It all started when friends and family members called
upon Jean's experience in flower design and asked her for help in wedding
coordination. Then Jean took a course through the ACPWC (Association of Professional Wedding Consultants) and
now has attained her "Professional" Status in that organization.
As she does with prospective brides, she invited me for tea in order for
us to
get to know each other and for me to learn about her services. Over the cup of calming
tea, she gives her clients time away from their busy lives, to talk about
their ideas and dreams.
"If bride and groom have a vision, I come alongside and pull the
strings to make it happen." When a couple asked Jean to plan and coordinate
their whole wedding at Safari West, a wild animal preserve close to Santa Rosa,
she did all the foot work and the planning from booking accommodations for
the out-of-town guests to arranging a safari ride for everybody and a cheetah
photograph with the wedding party. From time to time she met this couple in
her Palo Alto home for a progress report and adjusted the plans.
A bride who called from New York offered Jean a 2-hour fee to work out a preliminary
budget for a wine country wedding. It turned out that it
wasn't only a bride but also a journalist for the The Wall Street Journal,
and she was very happy with the well-priced estimate.
Jean also is well-liked by her peers who love to work with her and
also recommend her highly.
