With more than 30 years in business, Gregg Shriner is one of the most experienced caterers in the area. He has worked as a cook and chef in hotels and restaurants all over the country. The company's name comes from his work with Catholic schools in the Bay Area. Right now, Gregg and his staff work out of the St. Charles School in St. Carlos, providing food for an additional eleven schools. The latest venue he caters in is the Elks Club on Alma Avenue in San Jose, which seats about 650 people

Gregg is very easy to work with. He can provide just the catering, or he can plan and coordinate the whole event. His quoted prices are all-inclusive; however, he is glad to show you a breakdown of his charges, including his profit margin. When budgeting is a concern, Gregg is willing to work out a payment schedule past the date of your event.

I observed Gregg's work at my friend's wedding and became one of his many admirers, who all say the same thing: "It was an outstanding job, even more so when you consider his reasonable prices." The food was very well presented and tasted wonderful. I also noted the efficiency with which he and his staff worked in the background, rearranging the buffet, helping with the cake, and clearing the tables-true masters of their profession!

Gregg also loves challenges. He invited me to a wedding at a location with neither water nor power. Cheerfully standing behind the hot barbecue on a hot summer afternoon, he prepared Hoisin chicken skewers and artichoke chicken in sherry pepper sauce. I also saw the wonderfully presented meat and spinach Béchamel lasagna (made from scratch), the herb-roasted red potatoes, and the different salads. The bride and groom came up to me to rave about Gregg's work. Just the other day a friend of mine told me about a great caterer with such reasonable prices - the very same Divine Catering.
