I chatted with Debbie as she grated fresh carrots for a carrot cake. While I flipped through her portfolio, she expressed how much she loved working with couples to design their own individual cake. She welcomes the challenge of these custom designs, many of which are pictured in her portfolio. For instance, with the aid of another artist, she created a tie-dyed wedding cake, air-brushed with food coloring, for 300 guests. Another couple asked her to copy a panel from a wrought-iron gate. She made incredible royal icing panels that matched the intricate iron work and placed them against each side of the hexagonal cake. A seashell cake included even a hand-sculpted lighthouse, complete with a working beacon. It's no surprise that she is well known for her specialty cakes. Her gift package cakes are some of the best I have seen. She has also re-created many Martha Stewart designs from past and current Weddings issues. While many will refuse to do the labor intensive, individual, miniature wedding cakes, Debbie welcomes the trend. She clearly loves her job and wants customers to get exactly what they want.

Debbie’s unique fresh-flower cake-table designs show another facet of her many talents. A beautiful, wrought iron, Victorian, spiraling plant stand is Debbie’s own design. It fits garden weddings perfectly and looks spectacular with fresh flowers.

One of Debbie’s greatest concerns is the freshness of her cakes. She bakes each one from scratch and uses only the best ingredients. Some of her cake flavors are white cake with semi-sweet chocolate chunks, tiramisu, toasted almond, apricot, butter cream, and chocolate espresso. A few cheesecake favorites are triple chocolate, white chocolate raspberry, tiramisu, and praline. Her creations can be covered with white or dark chocolate wrap, fondant, marzipan, butter cream, or white chocolate butter cream. Her showroom displays her cakes, seasonal wedding designs, and provides a comfortable consultation area.
