We met at a coffee shop on Polk Street; it is Aimee's home away from home. With a good cup of fair trade, organic coffee next to her computer, she puts on her creative cap while her husband, Nickolas, teaches the Alexander Technique (which also helps brides move beautiful) and instructs Argentine Tango (which both brides and grooms can enjoy) in their home studio.

It was with Nickolas that Aimee eloped to London for a year, it was because of him that she began to beautify dancers, actresses, and comediennes with healthy makeup for head shots in Los Angeles, and it was through him that I got to know this great, multi-talented woman.

Aimee holds a degree in art history, with minors in fine arts and English literature, and is working toward a master's in creative writing. While she has always been a student of beauty, her green education came from managing a natural beauty shop for a holistic food company in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was there that she learned the ins and outs of organic skincare, cruelty-free cosmetics, and green beauty. "It is really important to learn to look fabulous without using harmful chemicals," she told me, "I firmly believe that organic makeup is not only better for your health and the environment, it is also more beautiful."

Aimee has been a makeup artist for the past ten years and her experience encompasses traditional makeup training with Bobbi Brown, as well as her "green" training with natural, organic, and local cosmetics.
