  • Winter weddings are gaining popularity, enabling more choices of dates and the opportunity to negotiate with vendors outside the traditional wedding season.

Gowns
Winter wedding

  • Popular colors are a deep, rich red, as well as silvery blues and gold; snow white, with white silk skirt and black velvet lace-up bodice
  • Cloaks are trimmed with fur
  • Enhance accessories with “bling-bling,” such as diamantes or crystal beads

Flowers

  • Roses and Calla Lilies are the most popular
  • Orchids, Freesia, Lilies, Blue Moon Roses, mini Gerbera, Lisianthus
  • White roses for summer; red roses and berries in winter
  • Emphasis on foliage: sweet pea, bear grass

Color combinations:

  • Mauve, lilac and purple, with silver or ivory accents
  • Ivory and cream
  • Pinks, from cerise and fuchsia to burgundy
  • Unusual combinations, such as purple and orange
  • Green and white
  • Bright colors, such as pink and lime green
  • Gold and red for winter weddings

Styles:

  • Hand-tied, natural, modern, shower, traditional, caged, cottage/country style, massed roses, single flower or color, wild styles, simple minimalist
