The Two Books Everybody Should Have
Johanna Kaestner

There is never a visit to Costco on which I don't go to the book counter, and rarely do I leave with empty hands.

The latest two books I picked up were from the Mayo Clinic: Fitness for Everybody, edited by Diane Dahm, M.D. and Jay Smith, M.D. I found so much helpful information. There is a chart showing how to calculate your body mass; there is advice on how to find the right exercise for you; and there are specific exercise recommendations. You'll find an extensive guide to exercises and help on how to stay motivated in an exercise program.

In the Healthy Weight for Everybody edited by Donald D.Hensrud, MD, you about the fundamentals of healthful eating and maintaining a weight-loss program. It addresses your emotional needs, how to stay motivated; discusses eating plans and weight-loss surgery; and has a large section explaining the Mayo Clinic healthy weight program.

Both books are a step-by-step guides to getting and staying fit. They are so attractive and well done that you want to start to get in shape as soon as you read them.

The ancient Greeks knew that a healthy mind needs a healthy body. How about aiming for the best you can look at your wedding? A healthy lifestyle makes your skin look radiant, your body look younger. It is more fun if you exercise in a group. Ask your mother, sister, or friends to participate. Soon you will see the results on your body, and the stressful time of wedding planning will be a cinch.
