Lisa, Michelle Amy, and Teri get a break for a few minutes. They take their cake plates to the seating area at the far corner of the sun parlor. Of course, today's wedding is the topic: the elegant bridal gown and how easy it was to work with this family. They agree that their clients' grateful appreciation is worth the schlepping, the sore feet, the long hours and they feel privileged to be part of such a memorable event.
Michelle's and Amy's job is almost over; there are only a few more minutes until the grand exit, scheduled to take place about 11 p.m. Teri and her crew have at least another hour of cleanup ahead. On her way back to the kitchen Teri ponders why she doesn't get tired of planning weddings after so many years. She still loves being part of all these heartfelt events and thinks of the different couples she has catered for - translating their vision into reality adding uniqueness and beauty. Additionally there is the challenge to complement the wedding theme with food and drink, taking the preferences of the guests into consideration. Her rewards are the many bonding relationships she has gained over the years. Just this morning she ran into Gail and Victor and their three year old twins. They made their way through the crowded farmers market to hug her and to introduce their little girls and Gail asked with a sparkle in her eyes: "Do you remember our wedding?"
"As if I ever would forget one of my brides," Teri shakes her head and laughs softly when she realizes that she had talked to herself.
