Why should the most beautiful day of your lives be celebrated only between the months of May and September? It is appealing to say “I do” in the cold time of the year – romantic and all in white, not only the bridal outfit but also the surroundings.
Jenny and Rory, from Ireland, made their dream come true by deciding to have their very own “Winter Wonderland Wedding.” Where to have it but in Austria where they had been coming for many years to ski, having fallen in love with the mountains and the snow? There was no doubt that the big wedding celebration would tae place there in January.
They quickly found the right place: Zell am See in Salzburg offered the perfect combination of mountain and lake, both romantic and party-approved.
The preparations began almost a year in advance as several venues would be secured, and 80 guests would be arriving from all over the world to spend the week. Family and friends enjoyed their extended time together to celebrate the couple.
The atmosphere at the civil registry was relaxed but also ceremonial and amorous in spirit. The bride wore a short skirt, thick tights, and real moon boots. Then back at the hotel, everyone prepared for the church wedding. Jenny was a dream in her white gown and furry stola. The groom wore a classic cut. The sparkle in their eyes competed with the snow.
All of these special moments were captured by a photographer and videographer, from the horse and carriage ride through the snow by the lake, to the drink at the open chimney, to the party blast at the exclusively rented discotheque that night.
The winter theme was perfectly coordinated in the bridal bouquet and table decoration, with crystals and feathers, lots of white accessories, the wedding cake with the groom hiking up to his bride on skis. The white balloons and the heart-shaped confetti complemented the winter scenery.
Weddings are no longer a seasonal event. Anything goes and many things are possible. After all, a wedding does heat up one’s heart, doesn’t it? |
